FOR COACHES WHO HAVE PAID
Your Apple account
Your app is published from an Apple Developer account in your name. Here’s what that means and what to have ready. Please don’t enrol until my first email tells you which account type to create.
Why the account is in your name
Your App Store listing and your subscribers belong to that account, and Apple pays your members’ subscriptions to you, after its commission and taxes. The app is published from your account, not mine, so it stays yours.
Which account type
Organization is for a business Apple recognises as a separate legal entity. It’s the standard route, and your organisation’s legal name appears as the seller on the App Store.
Individual is for a sole trader, and your own name shows as the seller. I’m still testing this route, so please wait for my email before paying Apple. If yours can’t be used, your setup fee comes back in full.
Apple’s steps and prices can change, so I won’t repeat them here. Apple’s enrolment page always has the current ones.
What you need before enrolling
- An Apple Account with two-factor authentication. You’ll be the Account Holder, the person who accepts Apple’s agreements.
- Your personal legal name, or your organisation’s legal name. Apple verifies this as the seller name; it is separate from your app’s name.
- For an Organization account, the business’s D-U-N-S number. You also need the authority to sign for the business. Apple’s page explains how to look the number up or request one.
- For an Organization account, a work email on your business domain and a working business website. I’ll help you check these before you enrol.
- A payment card for Apple’s yearly fee. That fee is paid directly to Apple.
After you enrol
- Agreements, banking and tax. As Account Holder, you accept the Paid Apps Agreement in App Store Connect under Business → Agreements → Paid Apps, and add the required bank and tax details. I’ll walk you through it so Apple can pay you.
- Access for me. You invite my own Apple Account to App Store Connect, with access you can remove at any time. I’ll send the steps when we reach them. Your password stays with you.
What you keep
Your Apple account, your App Store listing and your content stay yours. If you ever stop the monthly service, the app’s training and logging stay available to members who have it installed. The terms explain what happens to support, updates and AI.
